The second phase of the NANS JCC Ondo Axis Medical Outreach 2026, organized by the Office of the Welfare Director, was successfully held on Thursday, 30th July, 2026, at the Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo.
Building on the success of the opening phase at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), the outreach brought together students from Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (FedPoly), and the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, who turned out to benefit from the free healthcare services provided.
Participants received comprehensive medical services, including HIV screening, Hepatitis B screening, Malaria testing, Blood Sugar testing, Blood Group determination, Genotype testing, as well as professional medical consultations and health education. The outreach further emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, preventive healthcare, and regular medical check-ups among students.
Speaking after the programme, the *Welfare Director of NANS JCC Ondo Axis, Comrade Kujenya Hammed Usman (OUSMAN)*, expressed satisfaction with the level of participation and the impact of the initiative. He appreciated the medical professionals, volunteers, host institution, and collaborating stakeholders for their commitment to improving student health and welfare across Ondo State.
As the outreach enters its final phase, the leadership of NANS JCC Ondo Axis remains committed to extending quality healthcare services to more students, reaffirming that student welfare remains at the heart of its administration.
The grand finale of the medical outreach is scheduled to hold at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO), Owo, where students from institutions within the Owo axis will also benefit from this landmark healthcare initiative.
