The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Ondo Axis, through the Office of the Welfare Director, successfully commenced the NANS JCC Ondo Axis Medical Outreach 2026 on Wednesday, 29th July, 2026, at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA).
The first phase of the three-day state-wide medical outreach recorded the participation of students drawn from three tertiary institutions within Akure, reaffirming the importance of accessible healthcare among students.
Participants benefited from free medical services, including HIV screening, Hepatitis B screening, Malaria testing, Blood Sugar testing, Blood Group, Genotype testing, alongside professional medical consultations and health education aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and healthy living.
Speaking after the exercise, the Welfare Director of NANS JCC Ondo Axis, Comrade Kujenya Hammed Usman (OUSMAN), described the outreach as a significant step towards fulfilling the administration's commitment to prioritizing student welfare. He appreciated the medical team, volunteers, institutional authorities, and every stakeholder whose support contributed to the success of the programme, while encouraging students to continue embracing routine health checks.
With a successful opening at FUTA, the outreach now moves to its next host institution, where more students across Ondo State will benefit from this impactful healthcare initiative.
